Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Your account: your email address and your password. We store the password only in hashed form, so we can check it but never read it.
• The marks you watch: each mark's text and Nice classes, and the owner name and serial number if you add them.
• Your alerts: which filings we matched to your marks, our assessment of each, and when we emailed you.
• Sign-in sessions: a cookie that keeps you signed in and, with each session, the IP address and browser type it came from, which we use to keep your account secure.

If you buy a paid plan, our payment processor collects your payment details directly. We don't see or store your full card number.

2. How we use it

• to run the service: match filings against your marks, send your alerts, and send account emails such as address confirmation and password resets;
• to keep the service and your account secure and to prevent abuse;
• to operate, fix and improve Spotsworth.

3. Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that run parts of Spotsworth for us, and only what each one needs:

• Hosting and storage: the provider that runs the website and stores our database and files.
• Email delivery: the provider that sends our emails, which receives your email address and the content of the emails we send you.
• AI analysis: the AI model provider that assesses how similar a filing is to your mark. It receives your mark's text, owner name and classes together with the public filing details, but not your email address or other account details.
• Payments: a payment processor, if you buy a paid plan.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business. We don't sell your personal information.

4. Cookies

Spotsworth uses one cookie, to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies, or third-party trackers.

5. Public USPTO data

Trademark filings, including applicants' names, are public records published by the USPTO. We store each filing's mark, applicant name, classes, goods and services, and dates to match them against customers' marks and delete them once matching no longer needs them, generally after about three months, except for filings matched to a customer's mark.

6. How long we keep your information

We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your email address, password, marks, matches and sessions from our database straight away. Copies can remain for a short time in our providers' routine backups and email delivery logs before they expire.

7. Your choices and rights

• You can see your marks and matches on your dashboard and stop watching any mark at any time.
• You can delete your account, and everything linked to it, from your dashboard.
• Depending on where you live, you may have further rights over your information, such as to access, correct or delete it. Your dashboard shows the information we hold about you, and deleting your account removes it.

8. Security

We use encrypted connections, store passwords only in hashed form, and limit access to our systems. No service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to protect your information.

9. Children

Spotsworth is for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18.

10. Where your information is processed

We and our providers process information in the United States and in other countries where our providers operate.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.

Spotsworth is owned and operated by EzPacking, Inc., which is responsible for the information described here. Your use of Spotsworth is also covered by our Terms of Service.
